Laguz Rune: meaning and message

Laguz is the twenty-first rune of the Elder Futhark and the great rune of water: lakes, rivers, tides and, by extension, everything that flows within you. It governs the emotional world, intuition, dreams and that deep wisdom that does not pass through reason. When it appears, it invites you to release control and let yourself be carried by the right current, trusting what you feel before what you calculate.

Its name comes from Proto-Germanic laguz, "lake" or "water." For the Nordic peoples water was road and mystery at once: by it the ships traveled, and beneath it dwelt the unknown. The Anglo-Saxon rune poem describes it as that sea that seems endless to whoever crosses it, an exact image of the emotional territory this rune asks you to navigate.
