Ingwaz is the twenty-second rune of the Elder Futhark and one of the most discreet and powerful of the third aett. It is the rune of the seed: the complete potential that rests, protected, awaiting its moment to sprout. It owes its name to Ing (or Yngvi), the ancient name of the god Freyr, lord of fertility, peace and the abundance of the fields.
