Tiwaz Rune: meaning and message

Tiwaz is the seventeenth rune of the Elder Futhark and the one that opens the third aett, the cycle devoted to community life and to the relationship between the human and the divine. Its stroke is unmistakable: an arrow pointing to the sky, a symbol of direction, purpose and firm will. Its name comes from Tîwaz, the ancient form of Týr, the Germanic god of just war and of law.
