Ehwaz Rune: meaning and message

Ehwaz is the nineteenth rune of the Elder Futhark and belongs to the third aett, that of human bonds. It is the rune of the horse, and with it come its great themes: movement, progress and, above all, mutual trust. A rider gets nowhere without their mount, nor the horse without the one who guides it: Ehwaz speaks of those alliances in which two become more than the sum of their parts.

Its name comes from Proto-Germanic ehwaz, "horse," related to the Latin equus.
